Phoenix had pursued the 28-year-old Bridges for years and uses the deal to save $20 million in luxury taxes while opening a roster spot before free agency.
Charlotte adds two playoff-tested wings and creates a frontcourt opening that recently acquired Naz Reid could fill after Bridges' role shrank alongside rookie Kon Knueppel.
Bridges averaged 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists last season and had spent his entire career with Charlotte, which already moved LaMelo Ball in another major reshaping this week.
