It appears to play much closer to a modernized classic *Black Flag* than to a full modern *Assassin’s Creed* RPG. The available information points to only light RPG-style additions, such as equipment management and some expanded progression systems, not a full shift to level-gated content, deep skill trees, or loot-driven character building. Ubisoft has explicitly said it wants to stay true to the original game’s spirit. So the best description is that *Resynced* plays like *Black Flag* rebuilt with modern *Assassin’s Creed* mechanics. Players should expect a more fluid, more demanding combat-and-stealth experience influenced by newer games, but still centered on Edward Kenway’s classic pirate-assassin adventure rather than a full RPG framework.

25-30 hours is Insider Gaming's estimate for Black Flag Resynced's main story, with full completion projected at more than 70 hours ahead of the remake's expected July 9 launch.
6 hours of added quests, officer assignments and similar activities drive part of that increase, while Ubisoft's game director said the more detailed world should keep players engaged beyond the extra content alone.
23.5 hours was the average main-story time for the original Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag on HowLongToBeat, rising to about 41 hours for main and side content and more than 60 hours for 100% completion.
The remake is expected on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Ubisoft continuing to reveal details as release nears.
