Hamburgers ranked as the food that best represents America, ahead of barbecue; seniors favored apple pie, and pizza drew relatively stronger support in the Northeast.
Just over half said they are at least somewhat excited about the America 250 celebrations, and about half plan to fly the U.S. flag on July 4, with enthusiasm for the anniversary tracking with flag-flying plans.
The June 23-26 survey carried a margin of error of plus or minus 2.7 percentage points and was weighted to reflect the national adult population.
