A new GBAO survey puts state Rep. Manny Rutinel ahead of former state Rep. Shannon Bird by 13 points, 44% to 31%, less than a week before Colorado’s June 30 Democratic primary.
The June 11-14 poll sampled 400 likely Democratic primary voters by phone and text-to-web and carries a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
That marks a reversal from GBAO’s previously unreleased April 22-26 poll, which found Bird leading Rutinel by 1 point using the same methodology.
The winner will face Republican Rep. Gabe Evans in one of the nation’s tightest House seats after he won the district by fewer than 3,000 votes in 2024.
