TNA Wrestling invited viral World Cup fan Freddy to Sunday’s Slammiversary pay-per-view at Boston’s Agganis Arena, adding a wrestling stop to his U.S. World Cup tour.
Freddy said the event will serve as an appetizer before he attends Germany’s knockout-round match against Paraguay on June 29, calling the next two days in Boston “super exciting.”
Matt Hardy replied that TNA would get Freddy “all set up” for the show and said he looked forward to meeting him; Hardy and brother Jeff are booked in a four-way ladder match for the TNA World Tag Team Championship.
Freddy has become one of the tournament’s breakout off-field figures, with his cross-country travels drawing online attention and other invitations, including a White House visit confirmed earlier this month.
