Cameron Conley, 23, was charged with boating under the influence after telling Grayson Lake Marina staff that 19-year-old Marly Kinney was missing from his pontoon boat Wednesday.
A breath test measured Conley at 0.137, then 0.135 20 minutes later—nearly twice Kentucky’s legal limit—after troopers said they smelled alcohol and he admitted drinking.
Kinney has been missing since about 4 p.m., and officials said they do not know when she went overboard because she had been on the boat with multiple other people.
Search crews from multiple agencies are using sonar, K9 teams and thermal drones on the lake and nearby trails, while rain has hindered the effort entering its third day.
About 50 volunteers joined the shoreline search Friday, and Kinney’s family thanked responders as wildlife officials said Saturday there were still no meaningful new developments.
