Hainan authorities said online reservations, port-flow measures and added transport support helped the strait handle the 2026 Spring Festival, Qingming and May Day peaks more efficiently.
The upgrades are part of Hainan's post-Dec. 18, 2025 customs-closure effort to expand sea-link capacity between the island and Guangdong as cross-strait demand grows.
