Probably not your last chance ever, but it is likely one of the last unusually good SSD deals before prices stay elevated for a while. The Best Buy offer on SanDisk’s 8TB Desk Drive at $700 stands out because it cuts the price by more than 60% from SanDisk’s current $1,599.99 listing and brings it close to older, pre-AI pricing. In a market where many consumer SSDs have doubled or tripled in price since late 2025, that is rare. The broader evidence points to continued pressure on storage costs through at least the rest of 2026. But few expect a return to the very low prices seen in 2024 or early 2025 anytime soon. For buyers who need large-capacity storage now, this kind of sale is unusually attractive. For those who can wait 12 to 18 months, there is a reasonable case that prices may improve somewhat, though likely not back to the old bargain era.
