Summary
Radek Sikorski said Poland cannot rule out Russia staging a false-flag operation within the next two years to create a pretext for striking a NATO member.
Sikorski argued Ukraine has already weakened Russia's ability to threaten NATO's eastern flank, citing a stalled ground war, lost Black Sea leverage and Kyiv's growing control near the Donbas-Crimea corridor.
More than 230 square miles have been retaken by Ukrainian forces this year, he said, while strikes on energy infrastructure forced Russian authorities last week to halt civilian gas sales in occupied Crimea.
Poland remains central to Kyiv's war effort, with about 90% of foreign military supplies crossing their border, even as a dispute over a Ukrainian unit's World War II-era name has strained ties.
Sikorski said those tensions should not help Moscow and that any serious peace talks should be direct between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin, with Europe openly backing Ukraine.
