Trump spent Wednesday and Thursday on Truth Social casting New York’s primary results as proof that “Communists” were “finally making their move” and declaring, “The game is on.”
Three House primary winners backed by Mayor Zohran Mamdani — Darializa Avila Chevalier, Brad Lander and Claire Valdez — triggered the posts after scoring major victories on Tuesday.
Trump, 80, also shared a vintage John F. Kennedy clip about threats “from within,” extending his effort to equate Mamdani’s democratic socialist allies with communists.
The wins also exposed Democratic tensions: Van Jones said the party establishment was getting “its butt kicked,” James Carville called for a “schism,” and Bernie Sanders hailed a growing grassroots progressive movement.
