Brazil Soccer Chief Samir Xaud Faces Fund Misuse Claims Over 8-Day New York Trip

Portal Leo Dias alleged Samir Xaud used Brazilian Football Confederation resources to bring a fitness entrepreneur to New York for an eight-day stay before the World Cup opening.
The report said the 42-year-old was seen dining with her in Manhattan, that her four-star hotel room was booked under his name, and that they left in a vehicle rented by the federation.
It added that Xaud then returned the woman to Brazil before traveling to Mexico City, where he joined his wife Natalia for the tournament's opening ceremony.
Portal Leo Dias also alleged a similar episode in December 2025 involving a model sent to Qatar at federation expense, while the Brazilian Football Confederation denied misuse-of-funds claims.
