FCC Awaits Team Telecom Review on Paramount-Warner Bros. Deal Financing

Brendan Carr said the FCC will not decide on financing for Paramount Skydance’s proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery until the interagency “Team Telecom” review is complete.
Carr said the commission will follow the facts from those reviews, signaling the national-security and foreign-ownership assessment must run before the FCC acts.
Foreign ownership is “not necessarily a novel thing,” Carr said, suggesting the issue alone would not automatically block the transaction.
The comment leaves the deal’s next regulatory step outside the FCC for now, with the interagency review shaping when and how the commission rules.
