Summary
Multiple Green Bay farmers' market vendors were left with damaged tents and equipment after Wednesday night's fast-moving storm dumped heavy rain and hail across the Broadway market area.
Monzù Bakery owner Jennifer Bukouricz said her tarp was reduced to a mangled frame after floodwater covered nearby streets, parking lots and Atkinson Park before hail piled up beside buildings and on lawns.
Five years in the building had never brought anything similar, Bukouricz said, while other vendors also reported damage on social media and said they were grateful losses were not worse.
On Broadway, which organizes the market, said staff followed severe-weather protocols and National Weather Service guidance, and will review whether its closure and cancellation procedures need changes.
