The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is unlikely to feel obsolete soon, but its most advanced software features will probably start lagging behind newer models within the next one to two years. At the same time, Samsung’s expected 2026 Galaxy Watch 9 line is rumored to add a much newer chip, stronger on-device AI, better battery life, and possibly exclusive health features. So the Watch 8 Classic should remain a solid smartwatch for at least the next two to three years for everyday use, especially for fitness, notifications, and Samsung ecosystem features. But if your concern is staying current with the newest AI tools, battery gains, and next-generation health functions, it may begin to feel behind as early as late 2026 or 2027. In short, support is still active, but cutting-edge features will likely age faster than the hardware.
