Summary
$985,000 will be paid by LA Laser Center PC to settle a class action alleging unpaid wages, overtime violations, unreimbursed expenses and unlawful training repayment agreements.
California physician assistants and nurse practitioners who worked for the company and related entities from Oct. 24, 2019, to April 29, 2026 are automatically covered, while eligible Arizona and Nevada workers must opt in by cashing checks within 180 days.
Up to $344,750 is earmarked for attorneys' fees, with $30,000 allocated to PAGA claims; the remaining net fund will be split mainly into a TRAP pool worth 90% and a non-TRAP pool worth 10%.
Aug. 11, 2026 is the opt-out deadline for California class members, and checks will be mailed within 28 days after final approval and any appeals are resolved following a Sept. 10 hearing.
The deal also requires changes to employment practices, including ending unlawful training repayment agreements and updating reimbursement policies, while the defendants deny wrongdoing.
