It is being presented as entry-level, yet it offers features that recently signaled a premium phone: a 6.39 mm body, a 5,600 mAh battery with 60W charging, a 144Hz curved AMOLED display, IP68/IP69 protection, NFC, Dolby Atmos speakers, and a 50MP Sony sensor. In practical use, that is far beyond the old idea of an entry phone as basic, slow, and stripped down. What “entry-level” now often means is not low capability, but lower price relative to flagships. Across the 2026 market, many cheaper phones now include OLED screens, high refresh rates, large batteries, AI tools, and stronger cameras. The gap has narrowed because premium features have moved downmarket, while brands use design and software to make affordable devices feel more upscale. But the category is not meaningless. Important differences remain in processor class, camera consistency, long-term software support, repairability, and AI performance. The term still matters, but it now describes price positioning more than a truly basic experience.
