Its camera performance has also been criticized, and the underlying HTC model was already considered hard to recommend in 2024. In a market full of stronger Android options with newer chips, longer software support, and better cameras, that makes the T1 a difficult sell. On security, the picture is worse. Trump Mobile confirmed a customer data leak affecting roughly 27,000 preorder customers, exposing names, email addresses, and order identifiers. Even though the breach was patched, a leak at launch damages trust, especially for a new phone brand asking buyers to rely on its ecosystem and support. More broadly, the T1’s supply chain appears tied to the same Asian manufacturing networks used by many global brands, which are efficient but not immune to cyber risks. The T1 may appeal to buyers drawn to its branding, but on the evidence available, it does not compete strongly on either value or security.

iFixit said the devices share matching displays, near-identical mainboards and interchangeable boards, which also pinned the processor down as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.
That overlap points to the T1 likely following HTC’s existing production chain, with the report saying the original U24 Pro was made in China despite HTC’s Taiwan assembly footprint.
