At his weekly General Audience in St. Peter’s Square, Pope Leo XIV said the faithful should draw divine life from the Eucharist and be transformed by the mystery they celebrate.
Continuing his catechesis on the Second Vatican Council’s 1963 constitution Sacrosanctum Concilium, he called the Eucharist a sacrament of love, a sign of unity and a bond of charity.
Leo said Catholics should not be passive spectators at Mass but offer themselves in union with Christ, with the Liturgy of the Word and the Eucharistic liturgy forming one act of worship.
He framed that self-giving as a remedy for forces of division affecting the world, communities, families and individual hearts.
