Summary
AIB will begin a phased rollout of its new mobile-banking app from the end of June, with deployment stretching over several months.
The app adds enhanced security and fraud protection, faster log-ins, and personal-finance tools including categorized spending, merchant logos and locations, and budgeting features.
AIB’s survey of 1,000 adults in Ireland found a third check their banking app daily and 44% log in a few times a week, underscoring heavy mobile-banking use.
The same research showed 55% use two to three apps to manage finances, 13% use four to five, and 31% say they are not confident managing money effectively.
AIB said customers will still be able to use phone and branch support, alongside its ongoing €66 million branch investment since 2024.
