Seven new cases in the past week pushed Pennsylvania's 2026 measles total to 73, with the outbreak now reaching York County for its first confirmed case.
Lancaster County remains the center of the outbreak, adding four new infections and recording 36 cases since late April and 44 so far this year.
One new case each was also reported in Lebanon and Berks counties, while state health officials declined to say whether the latest infections were tied to a June 3 exposure at the Lancaster County Courthouse.
That courthouse alert followed an earlier public exposure warning tied to a Kohl's employee in East Lampeter Township, underscoring how easily measles can spread through the air for up to two hours.
Nationwide, the CDC had confirmed 2,093 measles cases as of June 18, putting the United States at risk of losing the elimination status it achieved in 2000.
