SK hynix said it received the 2026 IEEE Corporate Innovation Award at the April 24 honors ceremony in New York, marking the first time the memory maker has won the honor.
IEEE recognized the company for helping expand AI computing by stably mass-producing every generation of high-bandwidth memory, a key component for overcoming AI platform performance limits.
SK hynix said its HBM lead came from moving early with new products and responding quickly to customer demand, while also deepening AI infrastructure partnerships with major U.S. tech companies.
The award, presented since 1986 to companies whose technologies advance industry and society, reinforces SK hynix's push to position itself as a trusted global AI memory partner.
