Summary
Micah Lasher secured the Democratic nomination in New York’s 12th Congressional District with 39% of the vote, leading Alex Bores at 35% and Jack Schlossberg at 10.8% with more than 85% counted.
The victory positions the state assemblymember as the likely successor to Jerry Nadler, who chose not to seek reelection after representing at least part of the district since 1992.
Lasher emerged from a crowded field that also included lawyer George Conway and public health researcher Nina Schwalbe, in a closely watched Manhattan primary stretching from Chelsea to the Upper West and Upper East Sides.
His win extends a rapid rise from Gov. Kathy Hochul’s policy director in 2021 to the state Assembly in 2024, and came with backing from the outgoing Nadler.
