Summary
More than 1,000 Continental road bike tires will be used by six teams in the 113th Tour de France, putting over a quarter of the peloton on tires made in Korbach, Germany.
The July 4-26 race covers 21 stages and 3,333 kilometers from Barcelona to Paris, and teams will choose among four tubeless-ready models tailored for standard stages, wet weather, time trials and windy conditions.
Continental said racing data from pro riders feeds directly into tire development, complementing lab tests on rolling resistance, grip and durability under conditions hard to replicate off the road.
The company said the same pro-level tires used in the Tour are sold to recreational riders, extending race-derived features such as puncture protection, rubber compounds and tubeless-ready design to consumers.
Continental's Tour role also includes tires for more than 70 support vehicles and about 30 motorbikes, alongside its status as an official main partner presenting stage-winner trophies.
