3 House GOP Chairs Threaten ActBlue Contempt Over 400-Document Donation Probe

Summary
Three Republican House committee chairs warned ActBlue they are prepared to pursue contempt of Congress and enforce subpoenas through “all available mechanisms,” escalating their investigation into the platform’s screening of possible foreign donations.
A Thursday letter released Monday says ActBlue has not adequately justified withholding more than 400 requested documents as attorney-client privileged, including former lawyer Aaron Ting’s resignation letter.
Regina Wallace-Jones, ActBlue’s CEO, had repeatedly invoked the Fifth Amendment at a tense House Administration hearing earlier this month, sharpening the committees’ claims of noncompliance.
ActBlue said it has produced a large volume of relevant materials for months, called the demand for privileged records an abuse of oversight authority, and said it will keep cooperating while protecting confidential legal documents.
