Summary
Rye City Democratic Committee backed incumbent Tom DiNapoli in the June 23 Democratic primary for New York State comptroller, the only race on Rye voters’ ballots.
DiNapoli, comptroller since 2007, won the local endorsement on his record overseeing the state retirement fund, auditing public spending and policing waste, fraud and abuse.
The committee’s letter cited a recent Medicaid review that found New York may have spent more than $2.6 billion on people not living in the state.
Early voting is already underway at Resurrection Church’s Early Childhood Education Center at 88 Milton Road through June 21, with Election Day voting set for June 23 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
DiNapoli faces Raj Goyle and Drew Warshaw in the primary after also securing the state Democratic Party’s convention endorsement.
