Usha Vance, Disney Give 200 Military Children 12 Books and Park Tickets

More than 200 military children at MacDill Air Force Base received 10 books to keep, two to share and one-day Walt Disney World Park Hopper tickets at a literacy event led by Second Lady Usha Vance.
The gathering was tied to Vance's 2026 Summer Reading Challenge, which asks children to read 12 books between June 1 and Sept. 4 and offers prizes including a White House trip on Sept. 25.
Blue Star Families also distributed welcome kits for children facing military moves, while Vance said the partnership aimed to help parents support learning and growth over the summer.
Disney said it has donated more than 370,000 books to military children through its 15-year partnership with Blue Star Families and has committed $2.5 million to the group under its America 250 initiative.
