A 42-year-old man was rushed into surgery after a Sunday night stabbing in Rochester severed his hand, though police said his injuries are no longer considered life-threatening.
Around 8:20 p.m., officers responding to Clifford and Joseph avenues found bystanders giving aid; police then applied a tourniquet before the victim was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.
A nearby apartment search turned up evidence of shots fired, along with an AR-style rifle and a knife, according to Captain Greg Bello.
No suspects were in custody Monday, and Rochester police said the case remains under investigation.
