Probably yes, but only slightly if Samsung uses the same hardware approach as on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The S27 Pro is still only a rumor, so there is no confirmed evidence about its final screen quality. But the best guide is Samsung’s existing Privacy Display on the S26 Ultra, where the feature is built into the panel rather than added as a removable filter. Reports on that model indicate a real trade-off: even with privacy mode off, the display can look a bit dimmer and slightly less sharp because of the dual-pixel design used to narrow side viewing angles. That said, the effect appears modest in normal use. Samsung has said the impact is negligible for everyday viewing, and reviewers generally found the screen remained excellent unless compared side-by-side with a non-privacy panel. The bigger compromise comes when stronger privacy settings are actively enabled, especially “maximum” privacy modes, which can reduce color fidelity, brightness and crispness more noticeably. So the likely answer is that Samsung’s on-demand security will not come entirely free. If the S27 Pro gets the same or similar Privacy Display technology, users should expect a small baseline hit to clarity or brightness, with a larger visible penalty only when privacy protection is turned on. Whether that trade-off feels worthwhile will depend on how much Samsung improves the panel before the 2027 launch.
