Prime Video Cancels Aubrey Plaza's 'Kevin' After 1 Season as She Seeks New Home

Prime Video will not renew adult animated comedy “Kevin” for a second season, Aubrey Plaza said Saturday, calling the decision “very disappointing” just weeks after the show’s April 20 premiere.
Plaza contrasted the cancellation with NBC keeping “Parks & Recreation” alive in 2009 despite weak ratings, saying today’s industry is different and warning, “I hope the machines won’t ruin everything.”
The series was co-created by Plaza and Joe Wengert, with Plaza voicing Dana and Jason Schwartzman leading a pet-centered cast that also included Amy Sedaris, Aparna Nancherla, John Waters and Whoopi Goldberg.
Plaza said she still hopes “Kevin” can find “a new owner someday,” leaving open the possibility that the one-season Amazon MGM Studios show could move elsewhere.
