Amazon Adds 12-Month Price History and Auto-Buy Alerts to Alexa for Prime Day

Summary
Amazon rolled out new Alexa for Shopping tools ahead of Prime Day, including personalized deal guides, target-price alerts and optional automatic purchasing when an item hits a set price.
The assistant now also shows up to 12 months of Amazon price history on supported products, letting shoppers ask whether an item was cheaper during past sales or what its lowest price was this year.
Those features are built into the Amazon Shopping app, Amazon.com and Echo Show devices, using shoppers' browsing and purchase history to surface recommendations and explain why deals were selected.
The system's limits are also clear: it tracks only Amazon pricing, may miss coupon effects or rival retailers' better offers, and still works best as a convenience tool rather than a full replacement for manual deal research.
