Summary
Beulah collapses after what appears to be a stroke when a drunken Carter staggers into the 10-Petal anniversary party and smashes a large taxidermy goat head in front of guests.
Minutes earlier, Beulah had abandoned her prepared remarks and publicly named Rob-Will heir to the 10-Petal empire after he threatened her over a speech naming Joaquin as successor.
That reversal sends Joaquin storming out, rattles Beth and Rip's business plans, and blindsides Zane, whose restaurant deal was struck with Beulah rather than her volatile, addicted son.
The episode also fills in Beulah's past through flashbacks: Mariano finds her injured after an assault by Luke, then later drives her to Luke's house, where she shoots him after discovering a pregnancy.
