Vance Rebukes 9 Million-Person Israel Over Misinformation on US-Iran Deal

JD Vance said large parts of Israel’s political system and public were misreading the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding and “panicking” over it, arguing the deal would benefit Israel, the region and the world.
In the interview, Vance sharpened the criticism by saying Israel “can’t just kill your way out” of every national-security problem, while suggesting Benjamin Netanyahu better understood the deal’s details than hard-right ministers attacking it.
The remarks came as the Washington Post reported U.S. intelligence agencies had warned the Trump administration that Netanyahu was likely to take steps undermining Trump’s push for a peace deal with Iran.
Vance’s comments exposed unusually direct friction inside a key U.S.-Israel relationship as Washington tries to sell the Iran accord to skeptical Israeli political factions.
