Summary
$200,000 from RBC will fund The Ottawa Mission’s employment programs, bringing the bank’s total support since 2019 to more than $500,000.
The funding targets Ottawa labor shortages and helps people facing homelessness, poverty, addiction and other barriers gain training, mentorship and workplace experience.
The Mission’s Food Services Training Program has graduated more than 500 people since 2004, with about 90% securing jobs after completion.
A newer Maintenance Services Training Program launched in 2025 has posted a 100% employment rate so far, preparing participants for facilities management and building maintenance roles.
RBC has also added financial-literacy workshops and graduate mentorship, backing a model the Mission says helps rebuild lives while supplying employers with trained workers.
