JD Vance said on Sean Hannity’s podcast that Donald Trump has an “unbelievable ability” to judge whether people seeking favors are acting for themselves or for America.
Trump’s instincts, Vance said, hold up even against CEOs and world leaders who regularly come to the White House asking for something.
Vance tied that view to his own shift away from what he called a hyper-rational, arrogant mindset, recalling a period when he dismissed his grandmother’s wisdom and called himself an atheist.
He used the interview to attack elite institutions and policy experts, arguing economic and military specialists who criticized Trump had already “screwed up the country” without learning from it.
