Six newly public FCC records gave the first detailed official look at Valve’s Steam Frame controllers, confirming TMR thumbsticks and an unannounced Frame Enthusiast Kit with a hot-swappable headset battery.
TMR sensors replace Hall-effect sticks used by some rivals, promising more precise input and lower power draw in controllers powered by a single AA battery rated for about 40 hours.
FCC photos show left and right Bluetooth LE controllers with ABXY buttons, a D-pad, trigger and bumper, while the headset’s 4 onboard cameras handle tracking without external base stations.
The safety manual also points to a broader magnetic accessory system: triggers, the face gasket and the Enthusiast battery all attach magnetically, though the kit’s full contents remain undisclosed.
June 29 is now a key date for Valve’s launch timeline, because the filing pattern suggests the Steam Machine may need to ship before its own FCC manual becomes public; a leaked report points to a June 23 price announcement.
