Google Overhauls Gemini Live UI, Showing Text and Images During Chats

Summary
Google’s Neural Expressive update turns Gemini Live from a full-screen voice interface into a compact chat layer that shows spoken responses, plain text and generated images in real time.
That redesign makes Live usable for quick multitasking: users can interrupt replies, view transcripts instantly, and copy, share or export answers to Docs or Gmail without ending the conversation.
The interface now shrinks to a small on-screen orb while other apps stay visible, while keeping camera sharing, screen sharing, mute and hang-up controls accessible from the overlay or notification shade.
The upgrade also broadens Gemini Live’s role inside Google’s AI app, following a separate update that let it tap past chat memories and connected apps to deliver more tailored responses.
