Summary
57% of Americans view Barack Obama favorably in a new CNN/SSRS poll, making him the most popular living president as he opens his presidential center.
Trump drew 34% favorability and Biden 30%, with Obama running more than twice as well among independents and keeping near-universal support within the Democratic Party.
30% of respondents named Obama the president they most admire, ahead of Trump at 19%; Biden and George W. Bush each drew just 1%, while Clinton got 2%.
The poll also showed retrospective shifts in presidential images: George W. Bush now tilts positive at 42% favorable to 33% unfavorable, while Biden's standing has fallen below any point in his presidency.
2,480 adults were surveyed from May 7-31, and the results also pointed to a generational gap, with more than 4 in 10 Americans under 30 holding no opinion of Bush or Clinton.
