Trafigura Seeks Tighter Dubai Freeze on Gupta's Wife to Recover $700 Million

Trafigura asked a Dubai court to tighten financial restrictions on Prateek Gupta’s wife as it tries to recover more than $700 million tied to the fake-nickel fraud.
The move follows a January London ruling that found Gupta had defrauded Trafigura on a massive scale through sham nickel sales.
That judgment also rejected Gupta’s claim that Trafigura executives knew about the scheme, strengthening the trader’s recovery effort.
The Dubai application shows Trafigura is now pursuing asset-preservation measures beyond the UK as it seeks to enforce the damages award.
