Florence businesses including Red Lobster, Costco, Dave & Buster’s and Big Red Appliances were damaged early Thursday, with at least one roof torn off on Dream Street.
Tornado-warned storms drove the destruction across northern Kentucky, also toppling a large power pole on Industrial Road and bringing down a tree on Merravay Drive.
Duke Energy reported 10,000 customers without power as outages spread through the Florence area, including near the Joseph Cadillac dealership.
Boone County has emerged as one of the hardest-hit areas in a broader overnight storm system that also brought flooding, road closures and wider infrastructure damage across the Tri-State.
