More than 6.5 million meals have now been delivered to families in need nationwide, marking the completion of the LDS Church-backed America250 hunger-relief drive in all 50 states.
The campaign moved 250 truckloads of donated food through America250's America Gives initiative and the Church's JustServe volunteer network, making it one of the largest service projects tied to the 2026 semiquincentennial.
Boston's delivery on Wednesday underscored the effort's scale: Catholic Charities Boston received a semi-truck carrying more than 37,000 pounds of food for distribution across Greater Boston.
America250 and church leaders cast the project as a unity effort ahead of July 4, 2026, saying service can bring together Americans across political, religious and community lines.
