Culver City Chase Suspect Hit 8 Pedestrians, Faces Attempted Murder Charges

Eight pedestrians aged 15 to 70 were struck during a Tuesday evening chase that began after a hit-and-run near Centinela Avenue and Washington Boulevard; the 45-year-old driver is now jailed.
Police said the suspect first hit one person, then three more after stopping at a gas station, and struck four others once officers began pursuing the white car.
New police video shows the car plowing into a 19-year-old crossing the street, and investigators said the driver appeared to be intentionally trying to run people over, though the motive remains unclear.
The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed at a McDonald's drive-thru in Los Angeles; an officer was injured but is in stable condition, and multiple attempted murder and felony hit-and-run charges are pending.
