Summary
July 4 fireworks on Lake Mendota have been scrapped, but Madison’s holiday celebration will go on under the renamed Stars, Stripes & Shorelines banner.
The Edgewater and Wisconsin Union said the change followed further planning discussions among partners, while keeping the rest of the family-focused program intact.
Nine scheduled activities remain across The Edgewater and Memorial Union Terrace, including free concerts, art activities, kid-zone programming and two Mad-City Ski Team water-ski performances.
The lineup runs from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., with acts including Until Dawn, Scott Damgaard, Brett Newski and the Bad Inventions with the Fellow Travelers, PEGASIS and The People Brothers Band.
