Summary
June 16 marks the start of Overwatch Season 3, led by Shion — the game's 52nd hero — alongside the Tokyo-set Hybrid map Neon Junction and the Anima Strike story event.
Shion is a new Damage hero built around aggressive mobility, dual pistols, dashes and a motorcycle-based attack, while Neon Junction pushes players through Hashimoto-controlled streets toward Zuiko-za.
July 6 is the end date for Anima Strike, a 3-week event that uses daily and weekly challenges, branching paths and more than 50 themed rewards, with a prestige track unlocking after the main route.
June 30 to July 13 brings Community Crafted, where four creators test hero redesign ideas, while Season 3 also revamps Hero Select, updates Stadium, removes Ranked grouping restrictions there and adds Oasis University.
Season 3 broadens monetization and progression with two new Mythics, a new Ultra Skin tier, up to 80 Mythic Prisms in the Battle Pass and 17 Loot Boxes plus 1 Epic and 1 Legendary box through seasonal play.
