Summary
Final Fantasy VII Revelation will close the Remake trilogy in the first half of 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2 and PC.
Naoki Hamaguchi said “Revelation” was chosen because it best fits a finale built around revealing unanswered questions from Remake and Rebirth, not because of the game’s separate core theme of “resolve.”
Player choices will slightly alter the experience by shaping how party members’ emotions and determination heading into the final battles are presented.
Only five or six people on the large development team knew the subtitle before its Summer Game Fest 2026 reveal, underscoring how tightly Square Enix guarded the final chapter’s branding.
The 2027 launch will also mark the first time the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy releases day one as a multiplatform title.
