Green County Completes $30,000 Internet Aid Program for 438 Children

$30,000 in reimbursements has been fully distributed in Green County, with 200 checks helping 438 children get home internet access for online learning.
Each qualifying household in the free and reduced-price lunch program received $150 to cover three months of internet service, funded through the American Rescue Plan Act.
The county says the completed effort is one of four broadband and digital access programs it is running, with a similar reimbursement program still open for seniors and people with disabilities.
Green County has also given out 50 refurbished laptops over the past year and is building free public Wi-Fi networks countywide, with installations due by the end of 2026.
