Summary
Apple Watch can now flag possible hypertension after a 30-day evaluation period and detect potential sleep apnea from at least 10 nights of sleep within 30 days.
Series 9 or later and Ultra 2 or later support both health notifications, while sleep apnea alerts also extend to Apple Watch SE 3 or later with current watchOS and an iPhone 11 or newer.
The hypertension feature tracks patterns of high blood pressure without requiring an arm-cuff baseline measurement, and sleep-breathing reports can be exported as a PDF for doctors.
Beyond the new monitoring tools, Apple pitches the watch to older users with fall and crash detection, emergency calling, medication reminders, navigation, and on-wrist calling.
