Summary
Chevy introduced three next-generation small-block V8s — 350, 400 and 409 — with the 6.7-liter, 535-horsepower LS6 debuting in the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport.
The 5.7-liter 350 and 6.6-liter 400 are slated for the 2027 Silverado half-ton, replacing the current 5.3-liter L83 and 6.2-liter L87 truck V8s.
Chevy said the 6.6-liter engine will be the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in the half-ton segment, though it has not yet released an output figure.
GM is expanding production of the new V8 family to Tonawanda, New York, and St. Catharines, Ontario, while the LS6 is already being built in Flint, Michigan.
The launch caps a V8 program GM first disclosed in 2023, with more details on the Silverado engines expected closer to the truck's on-sale date later this year.
