Samsung often moves older devices from monthly to quarterly security updates before support ends, which still offers protection but less quickly than before. So the key date is not the end of major updates in 2026, but the end of security updates in 2028. After that, the S23 will still work, but it will become progressively less safe for sensitive tasks such as banking, password storage, or handling personal data.
