Sept. 12-13 will mark the regional launch of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary campaign in Kuala Lumpur, the first of five Asian city stops and a free two-day event at KLCC Park.
KLCC Park will host Pokémon-themed installations, Malaysia’s first Pokémon drone show and a live stage program debuting a turquoise-haired PokéXciting Pikachu costume that will also appear in Pokémon Go.
Sept. 12 to Dec. 31, Ombak KLCC will house Malaysia’s first Pokémon Center pop-up, while the mall will get Pokémon makeovers from Oct. 1 and also stage a Nintendo pop-up with a Malaysia-exclusive Mario and Luigi T-shirt.
Nov. 21-22 will bring a Pokémon Run 30 fun run, a series-history festival zone, hands-on play for new Nintendo Switch 2 titles and the Pokémon Trading Card Game’s 2026 Premier Ball League at KLCC Convention Centre.
The company tied the push to Pokémon’s 30th anniversary and Pokémon Go’s 10th year, saying any permanent Pokémon Center in Malaysia will depend on local response to the events.
