Google said Search’s AI Overviews and AI Mode were not affected even as Gemini suffered multiple outages on June 10.
Rajan Patel, Google’s vice president of Search engineering, gave a direct “No” when asked whether the Gemini disruption hit those Search features.
Josh Woodward separately confirmed Gemini was down, said fixes were being rolled out, and later posted that service was back up and running.
The episode matters because Gemini powers some Google Search features, making the lack of spillover to AI Overviews and AI Mode a key operational detail.
